Liat Waysbort was born in 1974 in Israel.
Started her ballet studies as a child and joined Batsheva in 1992. She participated in the following Batsheva dances: Anaphase (1992), Flock (1994), Z/na (1995), Exhaustion from Dreamt Love (1996), Yag (1996), and Sabotage Baby (1997). In addition to her work as a dancer in the company, Waysbort also assisted choreographers such as Ohad Naharin, William Forsythe, and Amanda Miller.
In the early 2000s, after some ten years with the company, Waysbort left Batsheva and moved to Holland where she continued dancing. In 2005, she started her creative work in Dansateliers in Amsterdam. In 2006 she completed her choreography studies at Codarts, Rotterdam. She worked as the resident choreographer of Dansateliers until 2012 and also choreographed for other companies, including Conny Janssen Danst, Dansgroep Amsterdam and The Meekers. Waysbort choreographed five full-length pieces performed worldwide, as well as multiple short pieces. In her works, Waysbort deals with issues related to gender and memory.
In addition to her work as a choreographer, Waysbort teaches in the Amsterdam School for the Arts and gives dance workshops in Europe and Israel.
