Luc Jacobs

Luke Jacobs was born in Belgium in 1968.

He began studying dance at the age of 10. He danced with several companies, including the Royal Flemish Ballet in Belgium, the Berlin Opera Ballet, and the Ballet of Monte Carlo. In 2002, he joined the Carte Blanche Norwegian company and shortly thereafter joined the Batsheva Dance Company. In 2005, he worked as an assistant to Stijn Celis and served as rehearsal director and choreographer at Stadttheater in Bern, Switzerland, under Celis’s direction. Additionally, he created numerous works over the years.

Since 2005, he has served as rehearsal director and ballet teacher at the Batsheva Dance Company, and since 2010, he has been a senior rehearsal director with the company. He was awarded the Yair Shapira Dance Prize in 2012.
