Roger Briant

Immanuel (formerly Roger) Bryant

Dancer. Born in the US, he studied ballet in New York and danced in Donald McKayle’s and Martha Graham’s companies. He immigrated to Israel in 1973 and joined Batsheva. Bryant danced in the following Batsheva works: Dome of Heaven (1973); Journey to Nowhere, Puppets of Death, Taltela, Dream (1974); Treks, Games We Play, The Green Table, Album Leaves (1975); Mountain of Spices, The Great Variation, The Dybbuk, Rainbow Round My Shoulder, Voices (1977).
Bryant married Batsheva dancer Tamar Zafrir (now, Yosefa Bryant). In 1978, he left the company and returned to the US.
