“The criteria for a good photograph are first of all transference, as precise as possible, of the choreographer’s intentions. In addition, I take into consideration conclusions of what I’ve seen during the first runs, and develop personal narratives that are grounded in 25 years of experience working with Ohad. The process is based on an understanding that the work never ends. Sometimes images of the work that are not directly related arise, and they’re the result of my professional and personal ways of conduct. In Hora, for example, after several photo rounds, I asked for a certain light cue (cue 2) and got Ohad’s concent to photograph selected parts of the work on a lighting of shadows which is a part of the work, but doesn’t reflect all of it. This kind of choice makes additional value to the documentation possible.”
